Experience Capitalisation on Approaches, Innovations and Practices

Intercooperation developed and adopted a useful tool for recording changes during and after the life of various interventions. Experience capitalisation in Intercooperation and its project is perceived as a knowledge management process. It deals with what outcomes are achieved, how and why these were achieved. This is a continuous process of documentation to capture all the changes (positive and negative) regarding knowledge, skill, attitudes and behaviours which would be used for improving future projects/programme/ strategies / approaches.

Two lines of experience capitalisation are being organised: one, a continuous ongoing process of capturing, anchoring, storing observations and periodic processing to capitalisation outputs. The second line is thematically focussed time bound experience capitalisation. All staff members are involved in experience capitalisation. Assigned taskforce further select the most useful experiences against planned topics and sub-topics. Experienced staff members of Intercooperation primarily transform the pieces of information into thematic or topic wise experience capitalisation documents.

Main assets:

More than 10 staff members of Intercooperation developed their competencies in conducting experience capitalisation in any theme or topics

14 experiences were documented on various themes and approaches such as empowerment, extension approaches, professional organisations, addressing extreme poverty, service provision, human and institutional development
