Organisation

Intercooperation is governed by a Foundation Council made up from representatives of 21 institutions and independent personalities. Seven elected members of the foundation council constitute the Foundation Committee. The committee is responsible for the strategic guidance and supervision of the management of Intercooperation.

At the Head Office - located in Berne, Switzerland - Intercooperation employs 27 professional staff (economists, lawyers, geographers, sociologists, foresters and agronomists) of which 10 are female.

Worldwide, Intercooperation employs 567 persons (199 female and 368 male) and maintains a wide network of consultants. It comprises of six delegations (Ecuador/Andes, Mali/Sahel, Madagascar , Pakistan , Bangladesh , India ) and five representations ( Afghanistan , Nepal , Nicaragua , Tanzania , Kyrgyzstan ). Project offices exist in 23 countries, 5 in Africa, 6 in Latin America, 5 in Asia and 7 in Eastern Europe . Intercooperation is linked to many more countries through mandates and partnerships.

In Bangladesh, Intercooperation employs a total of 91 persons, of which 49 (11 female and 38 male) are programme and 42 (9 female and 33 male) are administrative and support staff members. They are based either in the country office in Dhaka or in the 5 field offices in Rajshahi Division and 3 field offices in Sunamganj District.
