Process Competences
For successful project interventions and partner support, appropriate processes are at least as important as thematic or technical expertise. Intercooperation therefore prioritizes process competences, methodological expertise and cross-cutting themes in the areas below:
| • |
Rural development and livelihoods |
| • |
Capacity to analyse systems and to identify critical areas for intervention (e.g. value chains or farming systems) |
| • |
Linking local experiences to global issues: from the micro-level (households, enterprises, community-groups) to the meso-level (institutions) and the macro-level (policies) |
| • |
Gender-balanced development |
| • |
Poverty reduction focus, including monitoring tools |
| • |
Participatory methods in planning, monitoring, programme management and technology development |
| • |
Human resources and institutional development |
| • |
Knowledge management, combining indigenous knowledge with innovation
| Intercooperation offers specialist support in all these themes and maintains internal Communities of Practice (CoPs) in a number of fields which enable its professionals to exchange experience and learn from others around the globe. |
